Frequently Asked Questions
Billing & Ordering
-
Many employee and student medical insurance plans include extended health benefits that cover optical services and products. These benefits can be used for sight tests, and prescription glasses and sunglasses. With direct billing, it's easy to use your optical coverage without the hassle of paperwork, giving you more time to find the perfect frames.
Coverage levels and policies vary between insurers. Each policy has a maximum benefit amount it will cover annually or biennially. Your health insurance provider can inform you of your available benefits.
Remember, health insurance resets annually, so be sure to use your benefits before they expire.
-
Paying upfront for your glasses and then filing a claim with your insurance company can be inconvenient. That's why we offer direct billing at our store, making it quick and easy to use your optical coverage and keeping more money in your pocket from the start.
With direct billing, we charge your health insurance provider directly when you pay for your glasses. This eliminates the need for paperwork and waiting for reimbursement. You only pay the difference between what your insurance covers and the total cost, if there is any.
We offer direct billing for prescription glasses, prescription sunglasses, and glasses frames.
If our store isn’t set up with your insurance provider, our teams will provide you with the necessary paperwork to claim your prescription eyewear with your insurance company afterwards.

Ophthalmologists are medical doctors specializing in comprehensive eye care, including surgery and treatment of complex eye diseases, after completing medical school and extensive residency training.
Optometrists, who hold a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree, provide primary vision care such as eye exams, sight tests, and prescribing corrective lenses but have a more limited scope compared to ophthalmologists.
